The University of the Punjab (PU), Lahore, has officially announced the schedule for its Undergraduate Admission Test for the academic year 2025-26. All prospective students aiming to enroll in PU's undergraduate programs must appear for this mandatory test, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, June 15, 2025
.Who Can Apply?
The admission test is open to:
Students who have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent (Grade 12).
Students who have appeared in the final examination of HSSC or equivalent and are awaiting results.
Test Categories
The PU Admission Test will be conducted in seven categories, each corresponding to specific academic streams:
1. PU-E: Pre-Engineering
2. PU-M: Pre-Medical
3. PU-AHS: Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences
4. PU-CSP: ICS with Physics Combination
5. PU-CSS: ICS with Statistics Combination
6. PU-GS: General Science
7. PU-COM: Commerce
Each test is tailored to assess knowledge relevant to its respective discipline.
Test Weightage and Validity
The admission test will contribute 25% to the overall merit calculation for undergraduate admissions. It's important to note that results from previous years' PU admission tests are not valid for the 2025-26 admissions cycle .

Test Fee: PKR 2,500 (non-refundable and non-transferable)
Payment Methods: Fee can be paid at any branch of HBL, UBL, or through mobile banking via 1Bill.

Applicants must upload proof of payment on the portal to complete the registration process.
Special Requirements for Specific Programs
Engineering Programs: For B.Sc. (Engg.) programs in Chemical, Energy, Electrical, Metallurgy & Materials, and Industrial Engineering & Management, the PU Admission Test is mandatory as per PEC regulations. Alternatively, scores from E-CAT (UET) or NUST tests are acceptable.
LLB Programs: Both the Law Admission Test (LAT) and the PU Admission Test are mandatory.
College of Art & Design: Applicants must take the PU Admission Test and a separate Drawing/Aptitude Test conducted by the college.
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D): Either the MDCAT or the PU Admission Test is valid for admission.
Test Centers
